WR Blue WRX - engine bay different colour??

Quick question for you guys with WR blue WRX's - I've just seen one I'm considering buying, seems very straight but one thing I noticed - the engine bay is a darker and less metallic blue colour (does that make sense?) than the exterior bodywork. Not just dirty, but a different colour paint. Is this normal or should I run away?
