WRX UK300 !!! 382bhp, and still more to come ;)
#1
Just got back from Power Engineering after battling the traffic
My figures for my UK300 were 382bhp with 314lb/ft, Torque figures were quite low because(here come the excuses ) the boost was'nt coming in on the rollers as it does on the road. Boost was slugging in at 1.4bar and then creeping up to 1.5 where as on the road it shoots to 1.6bar and then cuts back to 1.5. I was probaly losing about 10lb/ft but it still needs to come up a bit and there is some room for improvement too
I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel now and its nearly finished, until the engine lets go
I would like to thank Mark from Lateral for supplying a great turbo, gearbox and clutch
Pat, for all his help with everything, not to mention the 64odd maps that have gone through my ECU
Xtreme Scoobies for there help throughout and getting my car up to phase 2 aswell as their help with gearbox's,diff's, fitting rather large turbo's,servicing the list goes on A truely professional outfit
So, a little bit more tuning to get that torque up a bit and roll on the rolling road day at PE on the 15november I'm looking for 385bhp with 330lb/ft on the rollers

Cheers
If you have lots of money to waste and are prepared for an engine to let go
Brakes first
then
Ecutek tek3 map, full decat, induction kit = 285bhp
then
STI 7 injectors, uprated fuel pump, more mapping = 295bhp 290 torque
then
Front mount(APS) and big turbo, fuel reg= 350+ but! be prepared for the clutch to go first, then the box, possibly a rear diff and finally the engine

I have spent over £15000 on all mods
But everything is about a grand
turbo= £1000
clutch, flywheel & fitting = £1000
front mount = £1000
injectors= £500
pump and reg= £100
Gearbox = £3000
A few rough prices of the major items but there will be many more expense's along the way

Did you get an uprated gearset though?
When you nearly double the power anything can happen It may never go totally but you have to be prepared for it! All you can do is make sure you don't run too much boost, it does'nt det and its not running lean, then you stand half a chance of it lasting a while My personal opinion is that the engine is reliable for about 340bhp but the drivetrain is'nt!

Turbo and injectors from Mark @ Lateral
front mount i bought from Deep Singh but G-force sell them

Nice one Scott. still need a bit more bhp and a lot of torque to make up for your extra weight
****, you have the gearbox, i am on my second standard box, after i stripped 3rd to a near mill finish, guess you will have o come up o Elvington on the 26th October, to see how quick the old girl is
Enough winding up, nice one
The more 350 plus figures i see the happier i am, asit means he knowledge gained by the front runners is passing down, i just need o break the 400 barrier now
Now how do i do that?
Steven

CBR600, seriously you might have to try quite hard. I had an R1 level with my rear door and was keeping station with a GSXR1000 which was in front with this turbo on my car with a little more boost (1.7 bar) and a little less weight (classic, two up) for about half a mile trying to get past. He pulled in politely after that Who said Subarus are no good in 4th and 5th gear?
P20, a bigger turbo

GSXR1000 0-100 5.9 seconds! R u sure he was trying! the bike was two seconds quicker than a R500 Caterham... To beet the bike would require either loosing 900kg or gaining 900 BHP... But... on anything other than a billiard table the car has the upper hand... add a few twist and a bumpy road and you can leave a bike!... Done it several times with my mate and he's got a GSXR1000, a very nice new one!

Dazza I was surprised as well. The road had a few twists and was quite bumpy where second and third gear were used which made it even, then it opened up straight and was smooth, by then it was fourth and fifth gear territory, the acceleration advantage of the bike was virtually gone then because of power needed to overcome drag more than weight.
I spoke to the bikers later and they had been trying hard and had not had as much trouble off any car they'd ever come against including some exotica. I was delighted and surprised.
I have no illusions that a quarter mile drag race with any decent bike would be silly because of their acceleration to 100. After that it is more even. I timed a 0-100 off logs as about 9.1 seconds, but it still wouldn't be good enough.
A Scooby with almost double factory output (it was reading over double on an accelerometer, just under on rollers think it was getting a bit hot LOL) feels extremeyl linear in acceleration compared to a normal Scooby which feels very slow once in 4th gear.

I've been to the Engine Advantages dyno in Whitam(Essex) today and got similar results
381.4 bhp with 322.4lb/ft
These are the rollers that Xtreme Scoobies have exclusive use of, and as some of you might know a while back these rollers were reading about 50bhp down but since then they have been re-calibrated and it looks llike they are pretty close to Power Engineering
