I recently filled my car up with this stuff and there was an instant change in the engine sound. The car seems alot smoother and less metalic, but i also found that it lost a bit of its bite. I am now half way though the tank and the car has started to pull like a train and has really grown to like the fuel, has anyone else had this experiance.

On another not my friend has and X5 and a 330 conv and he says that ultimate is much better in his cars than optimax.

Must say found the complete opposite, the car was dredful lumpy idle the lot, it was so bad that i had to even top up the tank with octane booster

I was thinking that it might be due to the cold, but it was no colder last night than it has been in recent nights. I will try another tank of optimax next and see if i notice the diffrence again. How long does it take for the ecu to kick in and change it's mapping?

Should not take more than a couple of minutes for the ecu to change its mind.
The BP stuff, when you actually read the "full spec" is only 97 ron anyway, so not much different from normal fuel. Its only seems to carry more cleaning agents if anything.
but presume will run better than optimax on very cold damp days as the Bp stuff will not cause overboost as happens with Optimax.

So BP for the winter and Opti for the summer?

Sounds like a plan to me!
