Some kind individual has seen fit to drag their key down 3 panels on the drivers side of my blue/black scooby.

A chap from Chips Away who worked wonders last year with a rust patch has said it is too big a job for him and told me to go to a body shop.

Any guesses on how much it is going to cost me for front wing, driver front and rear door ??

The scratch isn't even very deep, but too deep to simply T-cut out

Unhappy

I know a man who does top spray jobs (chesire area)

cost 200 notes to drift out a concrete post scrape all the way down the side, spray drivers door, rear door and rear 1/4 and you cant tell where he blended it, ex rolls royce guy

it was my missus and her Ibiza, bit early in the morning for her to look what the hell she was doing!

oh £60 for the paint too, but it was a very deep ingrained scrap stoving the rear door in, i though 2 new door skins as a minimum, so is suspect about £150

So Chips Away said they could do it then.

Are they coming to do it at your house or taking it away.

My chap said that spraying a whole panel is too much for him (something about the type of lacquer they use) and so he would sub it out to his local bodyshop.

your scratches look very similar, not too deep but down to the primer.

yep they can do it round my house. the guy said he might need to use my garage (double with no doors) if it gets really windy - he also said he had wind breakers etc of his own.

Scratch Away are coming on Friday morning so lets hope for good weather 'cos he would need to be a contortionist (sp?) to work in my single garage.

I'll post the price up here when I get it but was expecting around £150. By the sounds of things I could be very disappointed.

Feel so sorry for you mate, makes my theft off my chrome valve caps ( again ) sometime during last night from the front drive seem so insignifcant, and to think it spoilt the day for me, as even though it was just the caps, it made me so angry to know that someone had been within the garden at the car. a camera is deffinately the next thing to be installed, seesm strange though as I am sure it was a sunday night when the caps went missing before ?? and a sunday night when one off the neighbours cars got broken into a few weeks prior !!!

I would honestly be willing to do time for any offence I committed !! if I was to catch anyone within my car, valve cap thieves would be dealt with accordingly too !!!!

sorry to hear once again mate, hope it all works out in the end for you, the only consoliation is you are not alone, even though at times it feels like it is only yourself who gets all the bad luck. any luck will change for the scum one day, and luck will be on the victims side as it should be.

regards,
john.....

I used chips away 2 weeks ago to do the bumper, what a $hit job!!! The colour match is good, but its dull and rough. They didn't even clean all the dirt of the area they were spraying, so on the underside of the bumper i now have small bits of dirt under he paint. As it is on the bumper you can get away with it and don't notice it unless you are looking for it, but i would never let them near a large promonent area such as a door or bonnet.

Thumbs up

Gentlemen

Your quotes are outrageous, i can have every panel on my car sprayed for £800, that include bumpers, roof, scoop, vents etc

i assure you it will be the best job and you wont see it, for that price he also removes lttle parking dents, any scraps etc,

only probs, there is a waiting list about 3 weeks and he may ask you to remove some parts, door cards etc, and no time wasters

please send picture details and i will get quotes

you supply the paint (there is a shop locally about £60 for one side of a scoob)
