Red face

Only one way to say this - engine just blown on our MY02 STi Type UK!!!!
(We've had the Scooby for 2 wks and she was serviced just only a week ago and no probs to report)
Will be notifying the Subaru dealer 2mro etc would appreciate a bit of advice before hand please

Will the engine be covered under the warranty?
If so, how long will they have the car?
And does the new engine come with a new warranty?

Still in a state of shock - BTW hello to everyone and thanks

Dan & Jac

Sorry to hear of your woes so early into ownership

Has the car been modified at all...De-Cat etc ?

If so remove them before the car goes in if you can or the warrenty could be void.

What fuel have you been running ?

Good Luck

Thanks Scooby Doo She has a Full De-cat, we have already arranged for original to go back on first thing in the morning.
She has been running on SUL - although i've read on here that a lot of Scooby owners swear by Optimax, we have never encountered any problems with running this one or our previous Scoobs on SUL.

I think it may be what life calls "just one of those things"

Danny seems to think we will be covered for it... if not, as i have just been told it's about 9K for another engine OUCH!!!!!

Cheers
Jac

Berkshire ? Which dealer ? They're dropping like flies around here.

Any more details re "blowing up" ? Personal interest re my Sti7 (+ PPP instead of de-cat).

Wurzel does have a point. Also it has been known for both dealers and International Motors to read this site. It isn't going to take them long to put two and two together when they see a claim for a new engine is it? I would consider editing your posts...
