I pick up my 1999 STi RA next week and i noticed when i viewed it it had no remote for the central locking. Is this normal first of all and if so is it easy to get it converted to RCL (getting a clifford c500 fitted soon after collecting the car)

Pretty sure the clifford will give you RCL as standard. You may need a solenoid to control the drivers lock but its pretty straight forward.

Some (most) RAs do not even have central locking, let alone remote. They do not fit the motors to save on weight

If it doesnt have centeral locking then you will need to have that fitted before you could fit the remote locking side of the alarm.

Hi there, i have an STi Type RA
There's no central locking as standard, so there's no remote.
there's also, no electric windows, electric mirrors, no aircon or climate control. Also no radio (gulp) but most people tend to put one back in.

Clifford alarms dont come with C/L only the ability to control the C/L. If you dont have any, you'll have to have it put back in.
The alarm place quoted me £25 per MOTOR, making it £100.
BUT.... you can buy a 4 door Central locking kit from Maplin for £29. go

Mine definetly has electric windows and aircon but i will need to double check to see if it indeed has central locking as i'm not sure now

Does anyone know anywhere else to get door lock motors from cause maplins havn't got any and I need 1 A.S.A.P??

Try a few subaru breakers they will prbably have the mirrors 2nd hand.

The RCL works off the alarm on my RA but then central locking is standard on a limited .
