Hi care3- have not had to use the spare yet, but is good to have a level boot now. before with the big wheel it was a nightmare! when you placed anything on the edges of the board it tipped up!
Dave - have a look at the beast if you wish. is the last set of data that you took from my car able to show if there is knock?

ps: the nearest sul pump is in totland! i went there today as i had to go to calbourne anyhow. filled two 20 litre jerry cans up with good stuff !

have used SUL excluxively since i have owned car '93 wrx (1 and 1/2 years).
reset the ecu upon purchase and having run a couple tanks of SUL through before just in case.
considering using octane booster now, but will it be wise to reset ecu again?

May as well reset it. Wouldn't mind having a look at your car to see if it does any knock correction - mine doesn't at all!
I saw the SUL garage is closed for a refit in Newport now.
Hoping it turns into a BP and we get the new fuel (Wishful thinking...)

The last data didn't have knock correction in it. Wouldn't mind getting another set at some point. The ECU only shows timing correction (due to knock) not knock itself.
Thanks for the Totland pointer!

Dave,
so i take it from what you say, my car did not knock??
totalnd i might point out is the farthest civilisation, on the iw to bembridge! i would use 2 and half gallons to get there and back to fill up!
old woman there made comments about stocking up, and that some one else from bembridge with long hair (glen - skyline) had also been over with jerry cans!

unplug battery 4 at least 1hr, best to leave longer, this ensures any power left in the capacitor drains away ,so the ecu will reset, there will be a noticable improvement from 97 to 98 ron especially if using octane booster like a nitrox additive, i beleive the ratio is 1 bottle shot per 15litres at around £7 , however you will need at least 2 bottles as the impreza holds 50 litres plus

Virgin,
have done the reset before, thanks though.
was gonna use silcolene pro-boost as local garage stocks.
anyone know how many of the pro-boosts do you need to use in a scoob?
having used it, what can i expect in terms of running? what are the visible benefits?

I don't know about your car knocking, as I've never looked for it.
All I was saying is that the ECU software can only show timing correction, not the same sort of knock indication as a knocklink.
LOL at the stocking up comments... Only on the IOW!

Obviously Ernie Fox has got in on the act and wants to drive the performance cars off the Island....
The sign did say closed for refurbishment, and I've not seen any house planning permissions yet.
