buzz,

all drivers taking part pay an extra £10 and all spectators over 16 pay an extra £5

I do not think that it is too much to ask to make sure the biggest scooby event of the year , encourages the fastest scoobs across europe. you want to watch , fine , why not practically guarantee the best of the best will be there.

the fastest scoob in the country was not there because he thought TOTB was enough. not that I blame him given the distance involved.

FFS I had to pay £10 just to get into crail on sunday to spectate and it's a ******* hole.

Question

will there be a scooby shootout 2?.

could I suggest if there is , all drivers taking part pay an extra £10 and all spectators over 16 pay an extra £5 ,half the total could go towards prize funds for different categories(best 1/4,top speed, handling and outright winner-similar to TOTB) and the other half to a charity of the outright winners choice.

it should open the event up to any bigger power scoobs across Europe.

£10 just to watch?? Don't be silly..

You COULD have a "donations" box for charity, but an obligatory 100% across the board price increase? I think not..

Hi Peccy I really would like to thank you and your colleagues for organising a really splendid day, I would also like to thank Mark Aigins for his greatly appreciated prize for the quickest reaction time.
I would like to point out that modifications to my brain to allow such good reaction times where not supplied by any scooby performance supplier so therefore I dont want to be drawn into any political debate, however should any of the relevant suppliers wish to add to these modifications I will seriously consider your proposals, then i can join the heated debates for future events.

If I may be so bold to make one further point I really hope that the organisers of the event covered all their costs after the shameful withdrawl of competitors who boldly put there names forward for the event and then humbly declined with no prior explanation. (Flame suit at the ready)

Best Wishes,

Peter Varey

Suggestions :

1) Keep it at Elvington.
2) Charge the same entance fee, but get a deposit beforehand from competitors to ensure people turn up.
3) Invite select clubs to attend and enter cars (skylines is one example of a marque I'd like to see there)
4) Put someone in charge of parking, to ensure that competitors are grouped near the strip, spectators cars are next, and then the rest (non subaru) are placed somewhere else. My one disappointment on the day was not being able to get a group shot without Merc's/BMWs/etc etc being in the shot.

Thats all I can think of right now....

we wont be running it as another totb with other clubs, we have already agreed the date for 1st aug 2004 for TOTB3.

however dave and myself are happy to sort another date for a straight scooby shootout. if you want some other quick cars there i will invite some of the fastest 200+ club cars down if you wish, we have a few that run sub 11s 1/4s that could have come.

fair points about the people who put their names down and then didnt turn up/run. i did warn dave that this was likely to happen.
if another one is run then people will have to pay upfront to guarantee a place, people turning up on the day will have to take their chances if its full.

also elvington is roughyl central in the uk, pod is southern to a heck of a lot of people!
