with a name like McCrash I can see why!.
On a serious note I'm with direct line and no issues , just tell them you want to be within the %11 to %20 extra power band . don't even mention PPP coz they won't know what it is.

Liverpool Victoria.

I had a premium increase of £11.60 for 6 months.
For those with no increase in premium please check your LV insurance schedule and ensure that engine mods (ECU) and exhaust are declared. I think it was the exhaust that added to the premium.

Just swapped to liv and Vic. Told them the car had mods aplenty, said "we don't need to know, just make sure you have all receipts for mods and photy's if you want"

Was told the same - so long as the engine size (cc) was not increased...just keep receipts and photos of mods.

T5NYW. Good idea that! Think I will send photo copies of all receipts for mods, and get them written on ins cert?

Misty,
I did get charged extra for the privilage

When I asked LV PPP was always free I ask 3 peeps on the phone 2 even asked the underwriter who confirmed, only verbally, "No Charge, keep reciepts"

When I asked 4th person to put it in writing on Certificate, he spoke to underwriter now there's a Charge was only about £16.00

With Tesco, with PPP the cost of insurance rocketed by 36%! They'd never heard of PPP or Provdrive and the guy I spoke to didn't know what an ECU was!

Phew - because my Insurance is up for renewal and the guys who normally give me the the best quotes (Priveledge and Greenlight) gave me a shock yesterday. I have an 03 WRX with a 24hr Tracker, and I am 33 with clean licence, full no claims and Priveledge are quoting a 25% increase on last year (now £850). Greenlight's underwriter has withdrawn Subaru cover from "New Business" as they have been getting 1 total loss claim for every 5 cars they Insure!!! More Th>n won't insure me as it is a "group 20 car sir - we don't do them" .......

Help. Are Liverpool Victoria OK? Any other recommendations?

Thumbs up

Norwich Union Direct
39yr / full no claims
WRX03 PPP £790 incl recovery (so have 2 numbers to call with ScoobyAssist & Norwich!) - no increase when had PPP. Checked TWICE as didn't believe them - but good point about getting it on document.

I did have to push them hard as were sticking to £850

I did try N/U direct but when I spoke to an underwriter and Fully explained what a PPP was he said no way!! I am like lots of people on here with Liv Vic who are happy with it so long as you have the receipt if in the event of a total loss claim. Tesco would insure the car but in the small print it said in the event of theft in less a tracker is fitted they would NOT pay out!! Car is WRX 03 PPP

Regards

John

Hi,
I have a 2003 STI with PPP and have no problems using Norwich Union for insurance. I needed to complete a modification form but no problem as long as you mention that it's a Subaru Approved upgrade.
Hope this helps. :-)
