Question

Scenario:

An 18 month old car goes into the dealers with 21,000 miles on the clock to have a faulty fuel guage fixed.

Car comes out with the Odometer reset to zero ie a brand new car!!

Any ideas?

They fitted new Gauges ?

Only explanation I can think of, as the gauges keep the mileage, and new ones would be set at zero

My wifes 206 had the whole dash replaced (speedo etc) and it came out with the mileage at zero.
How can you correct it?
It's now an S plate with 10K on the clock

The mileometer is usually reset to 15 miles when its taken back to zero................ cant remember why though....

Does sound rather bizarre though

Some people pay money to do this!!! or they disconnect the speedo - which has no effect on import cars but goes into failsafe? on UK cars

Its on a French car yes! I'm sure this will show as a mileage discrepancy(sp) on HPi?
