how long should it take to fit
#1
went for a service and after confusion on the mileage didnt get one.but i had some bought braided hoses and said for them to fit them instead and they said it would take 2 hours roughly to fit 4 brake lines seems a long time to me to fit 4 lines are they trying to rip me(this was a subaru garage as well)

It would probably take you around two hours by the time you jacked up each wheel changes the hoses and bled the brakes.
Dealer should be a lot quicker - less than 1 hour.
Do it yourself - pretty easy job, just soak all the threaded joints in wd40 a couple of days before and get a flair spanner for the nuts (only a couple of quid).
Just dont let the brake cylinder reservoir get empty, cover its top with cling film to minimise fluid loss.
