Cool

Whether Petter manages to win the WRC or not he must surely be worthy of a special edition car - along the lines of the RB5 or McRae.

Just wandering what we all thought it should have and why, here's my ideas.

Based on the WRX with PPP, it needs to be a lighter weight version - something that will get the power to weight along similar lines to the STI. Subaru can't afford to make it faster but reducing its weight will make it just as quick.

Colour wise I'm not sure, how about the traditional rally blue but with gold flecks - like the black STI 8, but blue

500 units is probably enough, better to have sold out than have some left.

What have I missed?

Hmm. A nice start..... but:

Electronic damping force control.
Driver Controlled centre diff.
Active Yaw control.
Sauna.
Less that 28K price tag

I heard from a dealer that there is also talk of a full rally version of the STI that can be bought from selected dealers for next year, cannot see how they can do this, but the price will be around £250,000 anybody else heard this.

Will you be able to get a full warranty on that???

Officially import a spec C, spray it a one-off colour, put some PS badging on it.

That'll do nicely

James.

Primary suggestion - how about make the special edition in the Wagon shell for a change.

It would be nice to have some exclusivity and some practicality - I just can't get my mountain bike, wife, child and all other necessary stuff into a saloon it just isn't physically possible.

After that for the equipment, how about a proper Sti running gear on the Wagon shell ?

All earlier Wagon Sti's have never had the same base kit (eg brakes) as good as the saloon. It makes my blood boil. . . .

hey, remember that Subarus used to be the vehicle of choice for farmers before these young upstarts started thinking they were actually bloody good value performance cars too

Nowt wrong with farmers, if it wasn't for them... etc..

I agree about the wagon, shame Solberg isn't more of a family man that could be the excuse Subaru need. You can imagine the quote

"What with Pernila, the baby and all those trophies I found the wagon a much more practical vehicle" LOL

PS03 it's got a good ring to it.

The spec C wouldnt happen due to the emissions over here.

I'd like to see the Special Edition with these characteristics:

- Painted in WRC blue
- The front bonnet duct
- Bookshelf boot spoiler
- Front mount intercooler
- lightweight panels
- adj suspension/diffs
- 19" OZ Super T's in Gold
- Wide Arches
- roof vent

Basically, if they're doing this Special Edition in respect to the WRC the car should be styled on a WRC replica, much like the 22B.
