all depends on what you are putting it in and what you will be using it for. If you have a uk spec car it is mapped to run on 97ron fuel so if you add booster from what i've been told it will make the engine run rough. i bought some at the RallySupercar Day put it in and didn't really see a difference either way.
If you have a Jap import they are mapped to run on higher Ron fuel so it is recommended.
i might be wrong on this so if i am let me know!!

It's a bit more complex than that. You're correct, if you're running an as-standard UK car, there's little if any point using booster as the car is mapped for 97 RON and isn't able to advance the ignition enough to take real advantage of the higher octane fuel.
If your car is running higher boost level however, even if it hasn't been remapped, the booster can come in handy by staving off detonation, and thus preventing the ECU retarding in response to input from the knock sensor.
As you say, it's a completely different kettle of fish for Japanese market cars, which are mapped for 100 octane fuel, and can det on SUL or Optimax, even when bog standard. Similarly the P1, which basically has a Japanese fuel map plus more enthusiastic knock correction, can usefully benefit.

Richard,
I think you'll find you're in the minority regarding Scoobyscene and hijacking a post to say what you think is pretty pathetic - is that how you got your other 8 posts?
If you want to say something, make your own post that is relevant, or better still, take it offline and deal with it off snet.
I know Scoobyscene, I know they're professional but sometimes **** happens. This isn't the way to sort it when it does.
