Manufacturers Forcing Street Racing !!!!!!!!!
#1
We've all read the threads on invalidating warranty by taking the car to trackdays, but apparently IM are now even more strict for checking cars at trackdays! Obviously this is not limitied to Subaru
What really peees me off is that manufacturers are producing ever more capable cars to an ever more "restricted environment" [i.e speed cameras etc..] However, they are also not allowing the enthusiast the ability to use their performance car on track either.
Therefore the car manufacturers are adding to the street racing culture that continues to grow in this country, rather than take their responsibility to the community seriosly and allow their performance cars to be supported through trackdays etc.. (obviously racing should be excluded!)
NB
Rant off - comments welcome

I'm not making an asseessment on the "street racing" scene. Just that that's the way it'll go if you can't take yer car thro' it's paces on a track!

Sure I've read about this somewhere before - I think it was in EVO magazine (about the sneeky IM people).
And I agree entirely with (but do not condone)the comments above with regard to "street racing".
IIRC - in the EVO article they stated that BMW did not invalidate warrenties, and even organised trackdays for their customers. SO if IM are aparnoid about it why don't they take control of the situation (like BMW) and organise their own trackdays so thay can check the cars over and let them out on the track only if they are happy that they are in a condition to do so ? Seems reasonable to me ?

I was concerned about this so whilst at the track venue, off came tax disc and on went "SIDHEAD" plates. I ensured no-one was allowed to view my VIN plate, just incase!
Bunch o' sneaky barrrrrrrrrrrstards!!
