How much could I expect to get for part ex on my scooby?

It's a MY98 WRX Jap import with 276 bhp, twin air bags, climate etc in very good condition (just a few of the usual small parking dints) with 70k miles on the clock and totally standard spec with FSH.
The used prices seem to vary incredibly at the moment and I've seen them anywhere from about 7k to 12k! in Autotrader recently.
If I was trading in for say a 12k M3 EVO, what should I reasonably expect? Any help much appreciated.

hardly anything... i was offered £6.5k against my MY99 UK Turbo - only paid £12k 5 months ago 
and that was against a £12k M3 
my car had 60,000 miles on it and FSSH
