New STi spec C.
#1
Just read about the latest impreza lightweight in evo magazine. Its the first ive heard about it.But for £27,000 you get 335bhp and 0-60 in 4.2 in a normal-ish looking sti.
Im saving up allready.
Im interested in the thoughts of all current sti ppp owners, now that theres a new king on the block?

I've just read the same article as you (I've an MY00 though)and all i can say is WOW, the in gear accelaration figures were just awesome. At 27000 grand it seems an absolute bargain for the performance it has. Definately the best looking new ager I've seen so far, just wish I'd got the money

The UK spec STi PPP was never the "king of the block" in performance terms anyway, as even before the current MY03 Spec C came out, there were the MY01 and MY02 versions (plus the S201 and S202), and the Type R/RA's before that. It doesn't matter what model year you talk about, there was always a Japanese market car that performed better than whatever the fastest official UK car was.
The STi PPP is the most capable series production car that you can currently buy from a UK dealer with a full Subaru warranty on it. Again, the existence of the Spec C changes this not one bit!

You tell em GM
Have to agree - it's horses for courses (the Spec C doesn't change anything), there's always the people who'll want the reassurance of the longer warranty and the convenience of a Scoob UK history. And it's not like the STi8 PPP is slow or anything!
Just the Spec C is very good

I mean king of the block as in the fastest impreza sold by subaru.
...And no Si, didn't forget about the 22B. The JDM version of it was a tad quicker than the "official" Type UK cars, so the "There's always a faster Jap version" maxim still applies.

Afraid the power and torque figures are exagerated however its still a quick car out of the box, Pete my info (as late as yesterday) was that there will be a slight cosmetic change only for the MY04 cars (front bumper area) however we can but hope.

Why are the figures exagerated? don't forget all of our cars are remapped as part of the package and Evo did explain it had our exhaust on it.

Actually I wish I had thought of this earlier...
A friend of mine has just started / is editor of a new car / fashion magazine called Zero. You may have seen it?
Could have done a 'Spec C at the ring' feature??? Probably too late now would need a photographer etc...
