Just had full engine rebuild.

Have to change the oil at 1000 miles.

Any recs. on the best oil. The car is a standard STi 4.

Also Im in West Sussex, where should I take it?

Cheers

Full rebuild? Exactly what in it is new?

If it's a new short engine, you'd be better off using a semi-synthetic for the first couple of changes, as going full synth too early can risk the bores being glazed.

If you've still got the original pistons and liners, a quality full synth (Mobil 1 Motorsport 15w/50, Motul 300V 15w/50, Castrol RS 10w/60 or Silkolene Pro-S 10w/50) will do you fine.

Can't recommend anywhere in your neck, but as a general point I'd suggest changing the oil yourself. It's not hard, and that way you can be certain it's done right.

Hi greasemonkey.

Remember me, you know the unluckiest buyer ever from about a month ago. Well my car is all fixed up now.

I went to Scooby Clinic. Got same pistons. Big end bearings, crankshaft, uprated oil pump, cam belt, plugs gaskets etc. all new.

I've put out a couple of emails & -

Thames vallet motorsport want to use Silkolene Pro R oil @ £85

Subaru4you quoted me £70 using Motul 15W50 fully synth.

Haven't tried no where else yet.

Just being ultra careful now I suppose.
