I'll will be moving soon to live and work in London from Australia and would like to purchase a WRX STi V Type R (or similar). I've owned a highly modified WRX MY98 (Turbo 2000 in UK) for almost three years now and can't bear living without a rex (as they're known in Australia). I'm sure I'll get used to calling it a Scooby eventually.

I think yopu will want to make contact with Crown in Henley - nearer to £24k for a type R - plus they are Antipodeans (kiwis I think) like you so you should get on !
