AE801/AE802 ecu boards

hi guys
how can you tell which board is which. i know it says on the tin but that sticker is on the tin and it is easy to change the boards.
when fitted to the car can a dealer tell when they plug in their little gismo?

There's a part number silkscreened on the board itself that gives away which one is which.
Not sure whether all Select Monitors can tell, but IIRC DeltaDash and SECS can.

thanks fo the info. the only number i can see is A19-001 DS3. this does not correspond to the numbers on the tin tho. does this sound right i was foolishly hoping it would say AE801/802

Not that simple unfortunately! Only thing I can tell you is that the number on the AE801 I've got is A19-001 DS2. Unfortunately though, don't know for certain whether this means yours is also an 801, or whether it's an 802, although given the difference in number I'd have to suspect the latter.
Best people to speak to would probably be an EcuTek mapper. You'd think these guys would see enough naked ECU's to know which is which...
