I know its been done to the death, but I am not sure if I have the sensor in the best position. It is placed on the nearside side of the manifold.

I have tapped the manifold quite hard with a socket in the centre of the manifold, and ir barely lights up, even though you can hear the tap from inside the car, tapping the opposite side of the manifold hard does not register at all.

I am now thinking that the sensor may not be picking up all knock. I have searched and seen some interesting info on where to put it, I have had a look at my STI 1996 and cannot see the same threaded holes (ie below intercooler), if anyone has any info or even hands on help, It would be much appreciated.

I have also tried to put the sensor under the I/C near the earth wire position, just to the front a bit, there is a thread hole. Does anyone know what size bolt will be needed, I did not take the I/C off, but tried to get an M8 40 mm in and it does not seem the correct size, anyone know???? Any Info?
