Question

Pete,
I read with interest your article in the latest True Grip. I have a question re. your final statement:

"For a 280ps Impreza the ECU must be run on the highest RON fuel possible, no questions!!!"

Well sorry, I have a question:

Forgetting PE and remapping STis to 95 RON and I know this belief of yours is why you have not / won't increase the boost on S600BYS, but does this statement mean that Prodrive, by remapping the ECU of the P1 to 95RON, are taking risks with potential detonation problems in the future?

Kind Regards

Darren

PS. I am not challenging what you say, since like many other SIDC members, I have met and spoken to you several times and hold you in the highest regard, however, I do think this point needs clarifying.

Prodrive didnt re-map the ECU for the P1, together with STi in Japan they are supposed to have completely re-programmed it, although some people say this is crap, it is what is stated by them, believe what you will. I think they are also recommending 97 ron for the P1 but as i cant afford the car i dont have all the info.
