The score basically is about a 16 year old lad called Robin who lives in chester is really into his modified cars. Unfortunatly he has been given about three weeks to live as he is suffering from cancer.
The above forum has been set up to organise a meet of modifed cars NEXT WEEKEND near chester to give the lad something to smile about. There HAS to be some Chester based Subarus which can put in an apperance for this guy. Unfortunatly I cannot make it as so I am posting this in the hope that someone from scoobynet can make what time he has left more enjoyable.
all details are in the link, can anyone make it next weekend?

Very sad, and unfortunately I can't make it.
Come on, there's loads of scoobs near here , someone must be able to show the burble off
As an aside, someone needs to help these guys with logistics pretty sharpish. They *need* to get this agreed beforehand with the car park owners (Tesco/Broughtons/Whoever). It could be brilliant publicity for the owners - but I reckon if they just have a load of modded cars turning up unannounced to the owners it could all go pear shaped despite best intentions, and that could ruin what should be a fantastic event!
Best of luck for it, I really hope it makes his day

Is the idea to take the lad out for a drive, or is it a case of parking up and letting him view the car?
If he is well enough to go for a drive and its OK with his parents Ill go.
Can someone who knows him answer these questions pls.
Later Yoza

We in the Irish Subaru Drivers club have for the last two years been trying to help very ill children by means of raising money for the Make a wish foundation.
We have just finished our second 1000 km charity Drive in support of the charity.
Check out www.555club.com for more information.

Fecking good cause and an excuse for a day out.
Count me in.
Have said yes on Robin's site, plus will try and get a few more of the Cov area meet to attend!

<Is the idea to take the lad out for a drive, or is it a case of parking up and letting him view the car?>
I think the idea is to play down the looning/performing on the roads & in the carpark so the police wont get the **** and shut it down.
But I'd think he'd appreciate a quick spin and if he were in my passenger seat I'd think it rude not to punt it sideways for him.
Nice to see such a good response

As Chiark says they will need permission from the car park/land owner, with Tescos or such and for this sort of event should just be a formality. Does need doing though.
I would also get local press/tv involved if he/his family are happy to have the publicity.

aparently robin isn't in a good enough state of health to cope with a few laps around a circuit. he has had the offer of many very kind enthusiast's but this just wont be possible.
it is a very nice thought.
