Where can I find an engine for a Type R? 98 or newer?

whats wrong with your old one? I dont really know the answe to your question, but I am lookng to buy a type R and keep coming across loads of posts where big ends have gone - or like yourself, people wanting new engines...

Thanks for the links.
The block is sh@gged, so it's not just a matter of new pistons and crank.
I've owned a scooby for 7 weeks, out of which it has been on the road for 4 days.
It'll be another 2-4 weeks before I get it back, at which point I may sell it so I can get back in a BMW (my last two cars were BM's).
After seeing all the "My big ends have gone" posts on this BB it has knocked my confidence in scooby ownership.

Half a dozen blown engine posts stacked up against a few thousand happy drivers should not unduly affect your confidence in the marque.

Stick with it mate .

I did. After blown engine and Turbo.

Car back on road (With a few more mods toboot).

Making it safe as well as perform.

FAK. The BM. mate. Scoobs in a class of ONE.
