hello all been shopping 4 my new scoob been offered brand new u.k spec wrx sti for 24k or an import from car supermarket for 20k any one know the difference if any which one to choose

I think the imports come from Cyprus. No alarm, no tracker, WRX rear spoiler (not STI) and I'm not sure about underseal.....

I've always been a firm believer in buying UK spec machines but recently changed my mind after seeing a friends Jap spec STI7 and finding out how much he paid in insurance which was comparable against UK spec insurance which surprised me.

The Jap spec appeared to have a few extras, like side windscreen shield but more importantly a very sexy body kit, think it was called fighter zero kit or something with a similar sounding name but looked amazing.

And with 4k extra in your pocket to spend on mods it gave me a whole new perception for buying imported.

One thing I suppose you need to be careful of is the import company your dealing with, i.e make sure they supply you with a detailed spec in writing find out exactly where it's come or coming from and the situation with the m/f warranty.

thanx 4 the advice but i believe the cars are non european thats all i know atm jap maybe

The cars the supermarkets sell won't be Japanese market. As has been said above, Cyprus is a common source. Just go and ask them. If they won't tell you, steer well clear!

I,ve got the sti7 import and you do get a few extras like electric folding mirrors,rear washwipe and more bhp as standard.
