Think long and hard before you do it Thomas. I recently got carried along on the crest of the 'ECU reset wave' and my car is now slower and the fuel economy has dropped by 15-20%. I am just waiting for it to sort itself out and re-learn what I forced it to forget!! Wish I'd left it as it was to be honest.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. All the ECU is is a fairly dumb computer. All you can do by *resetting* it (i.e. by turning off the power for a period)is to force it to use the *default* values that are stored on non-volatile RAM somewhere in the system.
Now, it is possible that these values give engine characteristics that are better, for you, than they were before. It could have been that you had used the car for cummuting in heavy traffic and, after doing a reset, you then sped off up unrestricted roads thus thinking the reset was wonderful. I bet another few days of commuting put the engine back to what it was before the reset!
An easier way to get the performance back is to use the right foot! A few miles (probably 10 at most) of foot to the floor type driving will have the engine back to what it should be.

PS: this definitelt applies to the MY95/96 cars - 'cos that is what I have had and have. The first paragraph though, applies to all cars with an ECU that learns as it goes - it has to. The only excepiotn would be if it had a battery back-up in the system. I don;t believe the Scoob has.
