I have a new Spec C if thats what you mean but they are more than 16k. The spec C is a light import. when remaped will eat most other Scoobys If you need more info go to Litchfeild imports on the web. It is the car with all STI bits on. I gave around 29k for mine.
You wont go wrong if it is the Spec C. pure fun.

AFAIK the spec c has no luxurys included, no aircon, electric windows, boot soundproofing, lighter body panels (no parking in car parks)and no underseal for the great British weather.
The limited edition of 1000 in red does have air con & electric mirrors but is about £27k.
A great track day car, but probably not a wise choice for everyday use to and from work due the harsh ride.
Might aswell go for a Jap sepc STi8 with all the luxurys if you don't intend to track it.
Just my opinion

There was an STi7 Spec C (bug-eyed) version wasn't there, I'm sure someone's put a post up about it and it would be around that price!
The STi8 Spec C Ltd - comes in Red / White / Blue / Black colours, for the £28K, drop £500 for the normal Spec C which is only in white and has no Aircon or elec windows and a few other things lacking.

There is a huge difference between the MY02 Spec C and the new MY03 Spec C. There are now 3 version, all are undersealed when they arrive with us

That must be a bug eye Spec C, didn't one come as a almost ready to race rally car with 16" steel wheels and the other with 17" alloys??
Have a look at this site http://www.iwoc.co.uk/jpnewagera.html

Yeah - that's the one I was thinking about. Lighter JDM of the WRX at the time! Doesn't look up to much though, but I never did like the bugeye in any version. Test drive's the only way to find out how good then (and it's not far from me), you have to visit this place just to see the garage on the first floor and how they get the cars up there
Have you seen the pic of the white scoob that John's posted the link for above (not the first one for the second one), OMG - the wheels!!!

ah mr philips - a bit more reasonably priced now he has split (acrimoniously) from Warrender (for folks who can remember the Bolton location). Certainly brings a lot of cars into the UK but drives a hard bargain too.
Spec - Cs of all varieties are completely bonkers and would frighten most people's granny.
The bug eye ones don't sell well in japan and can be bought cheaply
now but are still pretty rare - best to keep it without spoiler and just add red mud flaps for a full-on rally weapon.
be aware that the '16" version has no brembos and was a few grand cheaper - most were destined to be turned into group N competition cars hence they couldn't have the non-homologated (at the time) brakes - wheels were cheapest possible too as these would be immediately discarded by anyone buying one
oh and they all have a quick rack too - very nice.

The underlying reason you can buy the two separate versions is because Subaru homologated both versions, and thus have to comply with the FIA's volume production requirements and actually sell the cars to the public.
They did this to allow Group N cars to use the smaller brakes under 15" wheels on gravel, while moving to the Brembos and 17" wheels on tarmac.
This gets round the situation with the GC8 GpN cars, which were hampered by only being able to use the 294/266mm brakes and 16" wheels when rallying on tar... </pedant mode>

Ring em, no harm in trying.
But in my case I rang up specifically stating it was a MY03 JDM WRX STi and got a very good quote.
When I rang to actually get the insurance due to the car arriving they could not insure it!!! They must have quoted on a UK WRX STi. Seems to be it depends on who you get on the phone and you could end up with 3 scenario's;
(1). They will not insure you as it is not on their system.
(2). They will quote you on a JDM when in actual fact they are quoting for a UK spec.
(3). The person you are speaking to is completely clueless.
If you do get a quote on a JDM be very very careful as I very nearly ended up with the wrong insurance due to their incompetence.

The quote by LV albeit a MY03 UK spec WRX STi was £880. Shopped around to find best quote for a MY03 JDM WRX STi and Schofield Insurance (aka Subaru Insured) came up with the best quote of £1,500!!! Bit of a shock in difference but nothing I can do about it.
On that basis dread to think what a C Spec would cost.
