Help

I am looking to get the PPP for a MY03 and wanted to ask about the engine map [is 97 RON essential] and wheel / tyre combo. On the prodrive website, it recommends 18" wheel upgrade. Prodrive gives subaru as the contact and they wont know the answer, so does anybody know who to contact at Prodrive / contact details?

Cheers

97 ron is essential as the new ecu is mapped to achieve the power outputs quoted on that fuel, as for the tyres i've done a few now and it does make the ride harder but on road test i've not noticed any improvement in grip or driving performance but then it is a road test and not my car so maybe the owners notice it more.

97 RON is essential to get the best performance out of the upgrade. So given the choice you will want to use 97 RON (or Optimax!!) whenever possible.

But if you get caught out in some remote part of the incivilized bit of the UK, like Lincoln...., where SUL is not available then you can use 95 RON without any fear of damaging the engine.

The ECU will realise, retard ignition or whatever and you will have a car with no sparkle until you feed it a nice tank of SUL when it will jump back into full life.

I've got a STi7 with PPP and I'm still on standard wheels and tyres. Prodrive are bound to want to sell wheels and tyres too but they're by no means essential, treat them as two separate mods both more or less desirable but not linked.
