Demonstrator Models
#1
I keep hearing about ex demonstrator models being sold with less then 5,000 miles on the clock and one or two with less then 1,000 miles on the clock.
So why are they selling them with so few miles, surely its more cost efficent to keep one for a long time rather then changing them all the time????

Ian,
I looked at a demo before I bought new. Seen some crackers and some dogs...
Bottom line (from what I had gleaned from the 'salesmen' at the time) seems to be that they get a whopping discount from Subaru when buying said demo, and then can discount the purchase price when passing on to the customer.
I have a funny feeling though that it is also something to do with VAT, as the magic figure of 30 days dealer ownership was mentioned a few times (on a poorly discounted 'new' WRX with the worst kerbed alloys I have ever seen and a demo with 5,500 mls - must have been a courier demo).
Anyone confirm in the trade?
