Unhappy

On Wednesday night I slid whilst going round a tight corner, must of hit a patch of grease or sometime, I was only doing about 20 as it as a 75 degree right turn. I hit the low kerb resulting in a big bang and a big chunk out of my front near-side allow wheel causing it to puncture. The impact also bent the suspension mounts, broke the plastic thing that attaches the anti-roll bar to the thing that it attaches to, a few other bits are also broken or knocked out of line and the wheel is sitting about 2 inches further back that where it should be.

I managed to get the wheel off and luckily enough the I was able to get the skinny spare wheel on and limp very slowly home. I then managed to limp over to the scooby dealer yesterday morning.

It will cost about £400 to just make my car round worthy and then I will have to get a new allow wheel (or I have have to buy 4 new 17's just so all of the wheels are the same). So I have no car now but hopefully it will be fixed on Monday or Tuesday, but how can I survive a whole weekend without my car !!

Pictures will follow,
Windyboy.

£400 that sounds cheap.

Did my MY01 due to understear a few months ago and that was £800 to repair. A new rim and tyre will set you back £300!

I did some similar in ice that destroyed the rear wheel, trailing arm, hub and bearing and strut.
This came to £1500 on the insurance.
£400 sounds too good to me. Make sure that it gets a VERY good alignment check afterwards.
