Guys & Gals

Tomorrow my baby is going into Lancaster 7 Oaks to have the electric window mechanism fixed/replaced under warranty. Essentially 1 of the 2 nuts holding the winder motor onto the inner door skin came loose, eventually elongated the drilled hole, allowing enough slack for the rising/lowering mechanism to come completely off the rails & mangle itself

Question is...

As the screw elongated (read ripped) the metal of the inner door skin, would I be right in demanding a new one, as the car is not the same as I purchased and that intended by the gurus at FHI, OR will I have to make do with / put up with a repair job?

Your thoughts & comments would be appreciated.

TIA

James

I would have thought that they are going to repair it, unless it's totally trashed.

Anyway, I think I would rather have it repaired behind the door trim, than getting into new panels, paint match and all that hassle.

I beleive under consumer law, that they are allowed to repair under reasonable circumstances.
