STi 7 Jap Spec - Is this a good deal ?
#1
Just been to look at an Impreza STi 7 Japanese import.
2001 full spec non modified. 9.5 K on the clock and in very good condition. Alarm imobiliser etc.
The guy wants 13K for it. It seems like a good idea. I have driven it and all seems good! Anything I should be looking for ?
Comments appreciated !

Diablo,
Sounds like a complete rip off. Give me the dealers number and i will tell him straight (and maybe buy it off him)
Really sounds like a good price. Is he in the UK?

Just to give you an idea, dealer offered me £18,500 part ex on my UK sti07 with PPP and 21000 miles.
Dont confuse that with Jap import, because a dealer wont want to touch an non UK model.
But its good value for money the Jap import. Im selling my UK version and buying a jap version.

Thers's some very useful information here, courtest of drmotorsport
Have a look at my web-site, there's a page all about my JDM STi 7, with the differences to a UK spec STi 7.

pm his details to me and I will give you a second opinion, seriously mate its very cheap, even for a jap import, if its not for you give me a shout, cause I'm on the lookout for one,I thought I only had enough money for a sti5, 13.5k and at that price it should be snapped up(if there is nothing funny about it)

There are a few different versions of the JDM STi7, you have the likes of the GL, the KL (and i think there is one more).
One has the front and rear diffs (thats the one you want really) but i cannot remember which one off hand (GL??)

£13k is a very good price - go for it.
The GL is the one I have, it's the closest spec level to the UK models.
Some of the other specs and especially the ones from late 2000 and early 2001 didn't have the Suretrak diffs or ABS. So check for the ABS unit under the bonnet.

Well I picked it up last night !
Paid £11,250 in the end !!! I would post some pics but I don't have any webspace to post them on and create a link to in here. If anyone would be able to post them on here I would E-mail the pics to them, would be much appreciated!
