Last night, the misses and i decided to go and join the carnival fun in Bournemouth. We eventually got bored, as most people do in Bournemouth unless ya over 70, and decided to head off 'back to the office' for a bit of private fun 
, however, as i pulled out on the road,I tucked in nicely behind this clapped out Ford Escort with this huge exhaust hanging off the end of it! How the Ricaro didn't get soaked I don't know!! I just p**sed myself! It gave out all this noise but no vroom! Even the misses had a bit of a giggle, specially when the car 'tried' to pull away with a bit of'las ketchup song' blaring out of it's window. I pulled off and went down the cost road just for a little cruise, I had a peep in my mirroe, and lo and behold, this escort is making a move to over take me. I slowed down to allow him to do this. He overtook me with the guts of his engine sounding like they were falling out. The misses had a go at me for letting him do this knowing that there isn't a chance he could race me, but when we had a look at THAT exhaust again, we just cacked ourselves...and it tried to race a subaru! Oh how we smiled!

was doing over a ton on the motorway a few years ago (not the scoob), when I was aware of a car creeping along in the fast lane about to go past. Turned out to be an old dear in a battered old Micra - wish I'd been in the car on my own instead of having a couple of the lads pi55ing themselves...

They don't try and race me, but is anyone else fed up with those BMW X5 jeep things, all with tedious "X5" number plates and all with mum and several kids in, using 10 gallons of fuel to get to school and back?

Got done by a clapped out Escort turbo a while ago on the M11. 3 lanes with only him and us in a 22B.
How could this happen?
Everytime we went to pass him he burried his foot and the turbo spewed out a bat mobile type smoke screen. It was so bad we would lose sight of him and the other two lanes so couldn't pass.
Days of Thunder going high came to mind.

Worst attempted race was when i was in my Civic Type-R and someone in a wee yellow fiat siecento tried to race me. i was doing about 50 in a 70 zone when he started and was sitting in 6th gear. I never had to change down and he was a good way behind when i stoppped accelerating at 70. I' always wonder how he'd have felt if i'd dropped into thiord and booted it.
His engine was absolutely screaming an i was idling along at 4k revs(when it redlines at 8200)

A new (young female) MGF driver thought she would get in front of me after driving up the right-hand lane to jump a queue at a set of lights. I didn't rev or launch, but when her revs went sky-high on green, I knew she was on. By the top of first I was doing 35+ and *well* ahead.

not scoob, but was in the car with my old man, who drives an r reg BMW 750il, some young guys were right up behind him in their escort RS Turbo so he pulled in and imediatly pulled back out again and they were absolutely hammering it screaming the nuts off their car so he calmly slapped it into sports mode on the triptronic and floored it.
I think they were a miffed when they saw this two ton barge shooting up behind them.
but they did't move over they just hit the rev limiter and put a piston through the block . Doh

Going to Luton in the trusty Peugeot 1.6 CC I came across a 996 Turbo, I just had too..........
Using all the revs (which aren't many) I got wasted.......though he did wave goodbye....

i had a load of kids in a corsa combo van try and race me off the lights. was worth it just for the laugh. Most typical ones seem to be done up festas, novas, clios and corsas.
funny as it may sound though this is isnt scoob related but i beat a clio cup on A road in a focus tdi. I have no idea how. Unless it just wasnt trying or the person couldnt drive to save their life

I had a chap in a Pug 205 diesel try to race me 
at every set of light we came to.
He won...well to his mind he did i supose, did he realy think i would try to race him ????

I had a clapped out GSi CAvalier giving it all that on the way home from bognor.He was sat right up my **** so i nailed it in 5th and left him for dead so i slowed down and he came tearing up behind me again sticking his fingers up and shouting obsceneties so once again i nailed it and left him for dead i was wetting myself i soon got bored and let him pass as i was turning off next junction and he went screaming past with all his baseball cap wearing mates hanging out of the window made me smile all the way home.I bet they were boasting up the pub later that their cav blew away an STi type R bless em
