Steven,

As you can imagine, the scheduling of our programmes is one of the most difficult tasks we undertake as our viewers all lead different lifestyles and, therefore, would wish to watch television at different times. We, therefore, do our best to assess a programme's content and judge from our experience the most suitable time for transmission.

The decision was made to stay with the live cricket until 7.30pm which necessitated a schedule change for WRC which, in turn, meant that we had to drop the scheduled cricket highlights.

We apologise if the scheduling of this particular series is not convenient for your own viewing, but do hope you will understand how difficult this task really is.

Regards,

John Burnby

Information Officer

Why waste your time?

They will make the same decision again.

WRC is still watched by very few people.

Instead of emailing, you would do better to encourage poeple to watch it!

It's about money and advertising. Advertisers pay more for cricket and BB(more viewers that are susceptible to advertising etc.) than for rallying so rallying get's shoved out the way if things overrun.

Its a bloody joke. Fri and sat around midnight, then sun they change it to mid arvo - WTF!

Then if you miss that you've got Eurosport supposedly showing it at 12:15am, but that was Moto GP they were an hour behind.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I sent a complaint too, but have recieved no response.

I hope they sort the coverage out soon too.

1/2 an hour per night isnt enough, looking at fridays coverage you'd have though there was only pug / citreon, and ford competing.

Just posted them this via the C4 website...

Hi

If I give you my phone number would you give me a ring as you start to show the WRC coverage, I'd look in the TV guides but there's more chance of me getting a WRC drive myself than you showing the coverage at the advertised time!

Why don't you try cancelling Friends one Friday night and see what response you get!

Bob, a less than impressed WRC fan.

Personally, I'm glad they stayed with the cricket as I was watching that but I can also understand, if not like, the reasons why Big Brother is more important to C4 than the WRC.

I get round these types of problems with TiVo which automatically records the WRC, whatever time it is on, and for whatever duration.....(so, I'm alright jack )

I seem to remember the C4 team making this big play when they were starting off their coverage for this year saying that they were going to be bringing rallying to the forefront of our schedules, and that there'd be an hours coverage on saturdays, etc, etc.

Whilst I do like the C4 team, they do tend to focus (haha? ok then) on the top 5 a little too much for my liking. I like to know which particular tree fast freddy has wrapped his car round. Eurosport tend to have a lot more action shown, mainly because of their disembodied voice-over, but their scheduling is even worse than C4's.

I, too, have emailed a complaint and so has the wife

Thumbs down

Its always the same with C4 coverage. Even when Petter was in the lead and went on to win last time they still insisted on showing Burns et al and they were miles behind Its as though they are biased and that is biased against Subaru

yup, but proberbly to be expected as pugs, citreons and fords seem to run about 10 cars every rally

they also seem to insist on showing the same boring features, like penny in a rally car, penny co-driving a rally car, annoying presenter saying boring *** stuff to the drivers that makes no sense ("Are you happy with your performance?" to someone whos retired), robbie head talking about what cut means, penny co-driving a rally car, penny watching someone change a tyre, robbie's slightly more interesting commentry getting interruppted by the annoying bloke with dumb *** jokes, and to end it off an interview with a UK driver in the studio truck along the lines of "Do you think you can win this years rally?" ...

and about 3minutes of footage of cars ..

usually pugs as well

i'd rather listen to the wrc on wrc radio ..!

We had a chat about this with Jeremy Hart in Germany. He said that the scheduling comes down to pure financial decisions. If C4 know that at prime time, show A will get 4 million viewers and show B may get 2 million, then show A wins - simple as that.

What is more annoying is the last minute changes that have been talked about on this thread. I'm sitting here having just got back from Germany and judging by this thread, I reckon I'm going to have missed some of it which is bloody annoying.

If I remember rightly, the coverage is repeated in the early hours of Wednesday morning, so it maybe worth setting your video (assuming they don't change the broadcast time again)

I dont suppose someone will start a WRC/rally channel on sky. They could do good long coverage of loads of events and visits to team etc.

Saying that i'd need to get sky first.

I sent a message as well. Heard nothing back form C4 but got nice reply back from WRC/ISC saying they are trying to improve TV coverage.
If you don't complain nobody is going to know how p1ssed off you are and nothing will be done.

Live with it !
Face facts. It is a minority sport. CH4 did the exact same thing with NBA Basketball.
SKY soon saw sense and had very good coverage.
As has been said it is all about £££££ that is life I'm afraid folks
