Very witty remarks by mart 360 with regards to doing a fast 0-60 launch
the tech doctor advises...
1 depress clutch
2 place car into first gear
3 slowly bring up clutch
4 as clutch starts to bite and the car starts to move gently press accelerator ( this needs to be balanced to prevent a stall condition)
when revs get to approx 3000rpm (max economy) change gear
voila 0-60
do you own a 1.8 GL and is that the Granddad caravan towing technique
As for the “when revs get to approx 3000rpm (max economy) change gear”
comment should I reiterate the question
WHAT IS THE FASTEST WAY TO DO A 0-60
the turbo on a WRX barely starts to produce boost at 3000 rpm ,mart 360 do you understand the word fast ,it does not mean the same thing as economical.
Do you understand what a turbo is for ???

Tech doctor advises...
turbo... spinning device to make exhaust gasses get out of the engine by sucking very quickly............Doh
yes i fully understand what a turbo is and yes after owning a saab 900 turbo (non lpt) i notice the difference ..
however a turbo does not make a car any faster!!!!!!
it mearly increases the rate that you achieve your top speed..
by giving midrange punch try accelerating from 2000 rpm in fifth
what good is a turbo then!!!
actually its a 2.0 gl and is plenty fast enough when the engine is at its peak for torque (4000 rpm)
you were the one to ask whats the best way for 0-60 times..
i gave you the answer....
if you dump the clutch at high rpm you have two options..
1 massive clutch slip
2 wheelspin with poor acceleration until level of grip overcomes friction
3 balance clutch and accelerator and drive car to redline in each gear.
and practice..
