not checking the oil can blow it up, as can the radiator water leaking out etc..
It's all about how much power you try to put through it, which fuel you use, whether or not you thrash the hell out of it everywhere etc etc. Its a combination of lots of things. There isn't a "yes or no" blanket answer for every car/engine/chip/owner combination.
To be picky, YES it "can" I suppose.

Chip any engine and you can blow it if its not done right ?
What Chip have you in mind?
I think im right in saying that most people on Scoobynet would got for an ECU remap of some sort instead of a chip like a Superchip.

There are some incredibly talented mappers out there; though without knowing the spec of your car, year & mileage its hard to give an appropriate response.......
