Just purchased a MY00 UK 4 Door and was wondering what I should get as an average from a tank of fuel? Obviously it's going to be a lot less at the moment as I'm using the LOUD pedal quite a lot! But once I calm down a bit (need to placate the wife when she works out how much I've put in since Saturday!!)

I get over 31 on a reasonable motorway run. In town, it's never brilliant no matter how light-footed you are, especially if you're stuck with the over-rich MY00 ECU. If you're getting much more than 22mpg or so in town, you're doing well.

I've had my 4dr MY00 Turbo for about 6 months now & I always get between 280 & 350 miles from full tank to light.
It is 'box' standard with the 'over rich' ECU and I don't drive like a ***** either!!
(but I don't drive like a nutter either)

I get 190-220 doing a 40minute run to work and then the same coming back.
needless to say i'm doing about 18k a year and its costing a BOMB to get to work.
BTW, if its a loud pedal you have then there something wrong with your car, the one on the right is the power pedal on my car

Average about 24mpg but just starting running on SUL and it's gone up to 25-26mpg.
So for my Classic MY98 wagon, that's about 280-290 to the light. Used to be 260-270 on normal unleaded.

Lots of variety in the answers!!
I have had MY01 WRX for 8 days and am on 6th tank of SUL!! Oh my what a fabulous 8 days.
If I want MPG will use my Passat PD TDI at 45MPG...best of all worlds!

The best I got is 340 on a tankful..... (loads of good runs/motorway speed or just below, around 60mph average)
The worst I got was 180 on a tankful...... (using that right pedal a lot).
My00 wagon..... with PPP.

The 350 mile to the tank run was mistly comprised of a 140 mile each way run, down the A1 from Sheffield to Bedford!! (140 miles in 2hrs 10 minutes each way.) That's NOT a 56mph run !!!

2hrs 10 mins = 130mins
Avg speed = (140 / 130) * 60 = 64.6mph
Not a *****-out foot-to-the-floor average speed really is it?

WRX V2 with full decat:
240 miles if driven reasonably quickly but economically
220 miles if driven hard
200 miles if driven really really hard
And mine is the smaller tank (£35 to fill up with SUL)

There really is some macho bullsh*t talked about average driving speeds on this site.
One minute we are talking sensibly about the dangers of driving too quickly especially when inexperienced, and the next, we get phrases like "b*lls out, foot to the floor driving".
I can see why some people get the rong idea about scoob drivers.
Time to grow up I think.

Andrew J, maybe they are getting the wrong idea becasue the spelling and grammer deteriorate on a daily basis..
I about 200-220 miles from a tank going to Guildford and back from Portsmouth each day.
And, I didnt know there was a fuel light, just kept filling the tank up and it was taking £38 - £40 Optimax.
Whats the reserve when the light is on?
Peanuts
worst case was 180 miles from £41 SUL on second day of ownership, have grown up a wee bit since mind (and found fourth gear)...
