It should feel smoother and more responsive, perhaps just a tad faster. An older car such as your own may take a while to adjust to make the most of the higher octane so you should either use a few tanks or try and reset the ecu.

What about MY98 Turbo ? I have always used Esso SUL in it.Couple of time I had no choise and had put tiny UL in it.Performance definitely is better with SUL.Smoother and more responsive,as you fellas say.But everyone is talking abpout Optimax these days.Is it any better than SUL?If so and if I wanna start using it,will I have to play about with ECU too or would it be ok?

Do a search on Optimax - it's always being debated.
Esso SUL is 97ron and Optimax is 98.6 i think. In theory it's better, but like i say - do a search
Your ECU should adapt itself to any new fuel and putting the odd bit os NUL isn't gonna cause any probs.
