Advice needed urgently... thanks....

The speedo has gone in my car... I think I mentioned that before. Tomorrow she's going in for her regular 6 months service, and they know the Speedo is gone.
We've checked all the wires - thanks those of you who suggested where to look and what to do-... but it still didn't work
The car is only 1 year old... but an Import will this be a costly repair so I can prepare myself... or is it a warranty repair if the sensor has gone..
I'd be grateful for your opinions.

Hmmm, tricky, If you have a warranty it should all be covered under it, as the speedo should not be listed as a consumable ? only bit that wouldnt be covered would be the speedo converter, but that should be covered by its own warranty ??

I had something similar happen last Friday on my WRX STi. I was returning from Wembley Tyres (F1s @ £60 + VAT), accellerating hard in third when the speedo died. Then the "check engine" light came on. I pulled into a lay-by and looked at the engine (as one does) with it ticking over. Nothing looked amiss so I set off again whereupon the speedo worked again as normal. Wierd or what?
All the best
