New Impreza in 05

I was test driving a PPP'd 04 with at my delaer while my car was in for a service, and he mentioned he'd heard rumours that there was a new Impreza coming out at the end of 2004/start of 2005 - anyone shd any light on this?
And we're not talking about the concept car here - but a 4/5 door replacement for the current car....

A replacement for the impreza is due out in 2006, according to auto express . Its a 400bhp car that bears little resemblance to the car we all love (no power bulge, eek!!). It looks quite stylish but not my cup of tea at all. No indication as to whether our impreza was going to be discontiued . As the new one is a replacement i assume it must be. My advice is to save up for 2005 and get the last of the sti's as we know them.

It's a given that the current car will have a shorter life than the GC8, so a new Impreza in 2005/6 is pretty much a given.
The main questions at this stage will be whether it uses a true Subaru floorpan and mechanicals or borrows heavily from GM's parts bin.
Either way though, don't believe everything you see in Auto Express until it's been confirmed elsewhere
