I have just been given the Sunday Times Driving supplement. There is an article in it titled Tyres for Life, it is a small editorial on a product called Superseal.
With the Superseal system you get a written guarantee that you will never get a puncture for the life of the tyre. The liquid is pumped into the tyre by a trained operator and takes about 15 minutes to complete. For a standard car it costs from £36.

Contact Superseal on 0870 744 3750 or www.punctureproof.com
Is this stuff any good?
Is it suitable for performance cars?
Will my Scoob go much faster when I chuck the spare tyre in the shed? mwuhahahah

(I don't really want an answer for the 3rd question )

unless your loaded and can afford to replace tyres when you get a puncture avoid this stuff like the plague!!!

I had some about 20 years ago for my motorbike ..usual gumpf seals ppunctures etc never need a apare!! the advisorys were

only run at 50mph for no more than 30 miles or 1 hour..

ok i thought popped some in whaen i got a puncture great trundelled into the tyre dealers and whipped the wheel of...

tyre dealer promptly examined the tyre and binned it...

i was livid and kicked off into a massive one... until the dealer explained... how can we fix a puncture if we cantr find it..

trouble is cos it seals punctures it coats the whole of the inner tyre with goo, making it impossible to find or repair a puncture.

and cos they cant find it you have two choices.. put the tyre back on and have it blow again... at high speed or replace the tyre £48 (the bloody can only cost £6) i know what i havent used since...

I know for a fact that the pug 206 cc cabby has no spare wheel, just comes with a couple of cans of the above..

and the tyres for this beasty are £100 plus so im told..

mart!!!!

Thumbs down

I am sure that i heard somewhere that having a liquid sloshing around in your tyres doesn't exactly help the balance?

This may be the genuine article and not the stuff you buy down halfords (tyre seal) or whatever its called.

There is a product out there and even the police use. It prevents punctures and is high speed rated. It was also tested on the stinger, so police cars could be "stung" accidentally and still continue the pursuit.

One of the downside is when your tyre does eventually wear out, its a pain in the @rse putting new tyres on.
