Why does this always happen when you are two weeks from going on holiday and you are taking the car with you (for the German WRC)?
Attempting to pull out of the Shell Petrol Station on the A405 (big one just off the M25 junction) this evening - it's a bit nasty, as you pull straight onto a dual carrigeway. Cars do approach very quick. See a Peugeot 306 coming down pretty quick, so I decide to wait. Stationary with foot on the brake - BANG. Result below
Very low speed impact - but its made a mess of the bumper and pushed the floor of the boot enough that I can't now close it.
Only saving grace was that the chap who hit me was very apologetic / company car / insurance (he is the director of the firm) and no injuries, so there shouldn't be any hassle (I hope).
Chris (not a happy man this evening)

Nightmare . I hope you get it sorted ASAP M8. When I was rear ended 18 months or so back it took about 3 weeks to get sorted from claim to getting my car back. I did'nt lose any no claims(even off of my protected NCB) because the other driver did the very right and honest thing of owning up. It also did'nt cost me any excess for above reason.
The bad news was that I was given A Mitsubishi Charimsa GDI as hire car. It's only saving grace was that it had a little light that came on if you were'nt being very fuel economic, hence the only fun was trying to keep the light on for as long a possible.
for you.

What can I say, feel for you mate...
I hope you get it sorted with no hassle...
All the best
Pete & Joan (Joan was over my shoulder expressing her thoughts with a few 4 letter words and some were even a bit longer she even suggested he might be illegitimate)

Thanks all for the kind words
I've got a very good local bodyshop, so hopefully, I'll get the OK to use them. I'm going to pushing it to get it back in two weeks, but I'm going to try. As long as the insurance companies don't kick up a fuss (over what I don't know).
Neil - my last hire car was a Nissan Almera, so I know all about ****e hire cars
The Scoobynet sticker BTW was one that Simon used to have produced for the Scoobyshop (we put it on the car when we went to Catalunya last year) - don't think he does them anymore - so no, nothing to do with the Scoobynet Plus pack.

And if anyone doesn't believe in fate, how about this for a chain of events.
On my way home, running low on petrol. Shall I fill up at the Shell garage or do it tomorrow morning?
- Traffic is light, so I decide to do it tonight
Get to said garage - no Optimax. Shall I go with NUL or wait until tomorrow?
- Sod it, never used NUL in the car so decide to back out of the queue and fill up tomorrow.
Waiting to pull out - get hit
What if....
Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Just had a thought.
Make sure you tell your insurance company and go to the GP if you feel the slightest twinge of whiplash. Not because you'd do a claims direct, but should it turn into something that you need time off work for, you have registered the 'injury' with the insurance company which may help paying if you need to take unpaid sick leave.

Hope so - it always looks bad with plastic bumpers. But at least it did its job. Apart from the lamp cluster being slighty dislodged, I don't think there is any damage to any other body panel. So hopefully, it will be a new bumper and possibly a new floor for the boot.
Insurance company (Greenlight - been very good so far) should be arranging replacement car etc for this morning.
Still p!%%@! off though

Not nice Chris i would be going barmy,i dont hold any hope of you getting it sorted within 2 weeks.
It will take them a week to sort the paper work and another couple of days to get it assessed, the wheels of insurance companies move slowly during any claim. Then they have to order the parts from the dealers then fit and paint.
3 weeks at best but more likely 4 if you keep pushing them.
