Probably more a matter for the government and the British Standards Authority than Shell itself, as I'd suspect that while the current Optimax satisfies BSAu 228 (or whichever one defines unleaded petrol), a 100 RON version wouldn't.
Mind you, it'd also present an interesting marketing conundrum: You sell Optimax for a couple of years on the basis it's the best pump petrol around, then you bring out something else . How do you market that, and how do you sell it alongside the original Optimax (or don't you?)?

I know that this has probably been asked before, but does anyone know if this new Optimax (100 RON) is coming to the UK ? I think they have it in Germany now.
Probably No as we are always the last in the world to get anything good as with our Scoobs - No DCCD-A on UK cars etc

We've got V-Power (100RON) now in Germany, had it for a couple of months... And, FINALLY, a Shell Points Card system!
No idea if it's coming to the UK - e-mail Shell from their website...
Cheers

Mail them at retailcustomerservices@shell.com and request V-Power fuel in the UK.
I've no idea how many "votes" of support they require before introducing the fuel, but the more the car (and bike - no prejudice )community submits - the better!
If anyone here posts on other UK forums, get them to do the same. 22b, for example. Is there a UK section of NASIOC? Pistonheads? There must be more...

This might be something a lot us should get behind - Soooo many people either actually HAVE problems with the UK fuel or have to use Optimax + OB to Prevent problems that V Power could be the answer to our prayers ?
(Wonder if the gurus on here , eg John Banks, David at API, Bob Rawle, Pete Croney etc etc could pass comment on this fuel being an extremely good thing in our cars, espec the ones mapped for higher octane levels inc JDM cars ?)

Ive just done it, for what its worth!
Used the word please and sugested that maybe they could provide it as a trial or somthing.
I also mentiond why.
Mind you, its probebly got more to do with Mr Blair & co than anything else.
And the e-mail will probebly bounce anyway!

Hi Leviathan - we might get better results by petitioning/swamping the web site, rather than just e-mailing.
Worth a go for all of us that don't think Optimax is adequate.....

Got a response back already
I think it'll be worthwhile getting a huge list of names together and swamping the marketing department. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?
There are no plans to sell V-Power in the UK at present, but please be assured that your comments will be brought to the attention of our Fuels Marketing team.

Excellent - if they're responding and really are forwarding/reporting on requests - that's got to be good. Perhaps a new "Bring V-Power ("Optimax-Plus") to the UK!" thread in General would be appropriate!

might be worth e-mailing direct (address below)
Thank you for your e-mail

At least you get Optimax (reg), we 're lucky to still get SUL, major reason why I chose a Euro spec car rather than an import was the lack of good fuel here in Ireland... even SUL is hard to find

They must have been asked before because 2 seperate people from shell have replied using the exact same words, so there must be a standard customer fob off email template.
Anyway you don't really want it in the UK it would be far to expensive to use, I mean it cost €1.21 here in germany, just imagine the tax they would add to it in the UK, isn't standard optimax over 80p a litre and that is no better than our SUL+ here

What's really needed is a dedictaed website where people can register an interest in the fuel. Then, alert everyone via all the sites such as scoobynet, mlr etc. and get them all to post on it. Then tell shell about it, if they realise there are thousands of people in the UK with cars that use a lot of petrol and who are willing to pay the price to protect their engine and gain the best from their car then they might take note.

I did start another thread about this: (see here). Someone suggested starting an online petition - there's a link on that thread to the site it would be hosted at. Sounds like a good idea. That way many more people, including other forums (22b, Pistonheads, etc etc) could register their interest as well.
I'll put together a petition tonight, unless someone else reckons they can have a decent crack at it first. An online petition needs a good form of wording to explain why people should support their cause. For example: "We the undersigned request that Shell UK brings "V-Power" 100-octane fuel to the UK market. We ask this for ourselves and on behalf of the UK performance car community because....
If anyone's experienced in assembling a form of wording along those lines - why not draft it here? Or, in another General thread, or in the one linked above. That way we can agree EXACTLY what we want to be asking, and how we should say it.
