put a deposit on a year 2000 vreg wagon and i paid £8600 with 12 month warranty. today i am looking at autotrader and see my car advertised but £500 less than last week and £100 less than i said i would buy it for. i phoned the guy up gave him some ear ache but he would not bugde on his price but insisted it was a printing error by autotrader.i now feel like i have been conned some how and not sure what to do.

If you were happy with the price when you agreed it, buy the car and enjoy it. Life's too short.

Maybe the owner was planning to drop the price if it didn't sell that week, and had already submitted the next week's ad to Auto Trader when you came along and decided to buy? Maybe it is a genuine printing error? Either way, I don't think you really have any claim over the lower price. It's only £100 difference and you'll burn that in fuel in the first couple of weeks.

Your only other option, if you've decided you don't want the car at that price after all (ie. you think you can do better elsewhere), is to forfeit your deposit and pull out. I did that once; it cost me £200 but I did end up with a better car so it was worth it for me. Just be sure you know you can get a better deal elsewhere - including the value of the lost deposit - before you do anything rash.

At the end of the day, you agreed a price and made a deal. Now enjoy the car.

A.
