Question

I'm looking to buy a MY02 Impreza WRX and upgrade to WRC lights, Prodrive exhaust kit and most importantly see if I can track down a MY02 Prodrive engine performance upgrade.

I've seen a few MY02/01 cars in the classifieds with Prodrive upgrades but Prodrive itself doesn't list anything except for MY02 STi versions and of course MY03 WRX and STi.

Anyone can provide info it would be much appreciated.

Subaru will list the the full prodrive kit for the MY01/02 WRX, it is £1600. They also list only the backbox for about £400. Or oyu could have mine for only £170. Contact by e-mail as per profile

This is avail thro' Subaru dealers for 02 wrx
£1700 I think I paid.
Fitted from new in Jan this year.
Well worth it though can run rough between 4-5000 rpm if you
dont keep to same make and type of fuel.
Religiously run Esso Super UL and its fine.
12000 miles in 5 months and still grinning.

Thumbs up

Thanks fellas, very helpful. I asked the salesguy at Subaru in Aylesbury weeks ago and he told me the 02 didn't have a PPP kit available!

I have to say I never enjoy talking with car salesmen. A bit like septic tanks...you know what they are full of.

What kind of BHP will the package give you?

That 170 quid deal sounds cool, but I've got to get the car first!
Will look you up if when I find a WRX in black mica low miles with air-con.

I had the PPP fitted to my 02 at 5K miles. Done 12K since, and it's never missed a beat. Way better mid and upper range, and better fuel consumption too! I love it.

I paid £1600 fitted at the end of October last year. Mine RRd at 260bhp, so I was happy.

Cheers

I had the PPP fitted on my o2 wrx in March this year, also had the suspension done at the same time. If you can get to Lancasters at Pangbourne, bit of a track for you from High Wycombe, but they do a good job (most of the time!!)

Sounds like everyone has had a good experience with it.

Thanks for the info on Lancasters Posh. I would like to play the sales people at SGT in Taplow, Adams in Aylesbury, and Lancaster in Reading against each other and see what kind of deal I can come up with. It's not too much of a trek if I can get something good.

I guess if you mod the car you need to sort that out with the Insurance people. Does this add much to the premiums?

Or why not go Ecutek 3 and your own choice on xhaust. This works out way cheaper than PPP and you'll get a custom map to your car using your existing ECU rather than a piggyback ECU.
