Question

(Almost always) When I switch on for the first time each day, I get a two/three second 'buzz' - exactly like the noise of an electric aerial being raised - from the back of the car. Which is a STi7/PPP with modified fuel pump . The noise was not present before the modified pump was fitted, but didn't start immediately after fitment.

?Pump? ?problem, or not??

Cheers,

Phil

Sounds just like you are describing the noise from an uprated fuel pump, priming itself on start-up???

Personally i'd be worried if I never heard it.

YUP fuel pump - *TIP* always wait for the pump to prime before starting the car - especially if you have aftermarket ECU - gives enough time for the ECU to sort its head out

Phil for what its worth, I have the same buzzing noise, but this has always been the case from installation of the PPP.

However, I could still hear the old pump's buzzing noise too.

Thumbs up

Not you, too, Shaun

Scooby do....Well, in a way, I do have an aftermarket ECU - a Prodrive Piggyback! Appearance of the buzz has coincided with a step function improvement in fuel economy - 10%, apparently consistently, so I am a bit sensitive about it

Cheers
