*Group Buy on NAVTRAK standard and ADR systems *

As many of you may be aware there has been spate of car jackings, thefts of scoobs involving many people in Scoobynet. This includes myself. (for details see thread below)
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=219041

I am currently in negotiation with NAVTRAK to see whether we can get a substantial discount through a group buy.
They have already done this with the FocusRS and BMW M3 club.
There are no definate prices yet but i need to know what level of interest there is and this will determine the amount of discount we can get.
Please email me or reply to this thread with levels of interest.

If you want to see the current price list click below
http://corporate.itisholdings.com/navtrak/prices.asp

If you want to contact them direct or just need general info call
Mike Gray on 08700 110050 and mention my name.(Chris Dodsworth)

Just to clarify-I am not doing this for any gain or financial reward, simply to get you guys and girls a good deal and hopefully get something that saved my car.

N3WwrxB0Y-you need to tell me how much the RAC one is and how does it compare to NAVTRAK in terms of accuracy and features. If they are like for like then we can see if the cost is ok for you. You are down as a possible

TonyG-not surprised to see you are down for this.I glad to see that you have found your car-hope all is well and that you have it checked over. You are down as an interest.

Hawk- You are down as an interest

thx guys. When i get enough replies, yes or no, i will start he negotiating.Keep the replies coming.

Already got one. I can fully recommend it as far as the active system works and them phoning you. Luckily i've not been jacked tho

With the ADR one, if the car goes more than 20metres away from the car, even with the ignition on, an alert is sent to HQ and they phone you to confirm the theft.

The Trackstar Protector is £555.00
Subsciption is £120 a year

Best thing about the tracktstar is u can move it to another vehicle, so if i sell my scoob i can stick it in my next car, dont think u can do that with navtrak (could be wrong tho)

Had Navtrak on previous car. When I sold it I wanted to either sell it on or transfer to another car. Navtrak were extremely unhelpful.

I'm not being funny, but I work in a computer room for 8hrs a day with no mobile telephone signal, what would happen if they couldn't get through? Still call the Police or wait till they got through?
I am interested if you can get a good price? even 10% is better than nothing.

OK Update
We are aiming to try and get as much discount as possible. If they offered the first years subscription free (£125 for standard and £199 ADR) would that tempt enough people. And dont forget your insurance company may offer a reduced rate on your premium, so it may all add up.
As for the comments of moving the unit from one car to another, i need to discuss this with them if this is going to be a sticking point. The only option maybe is to give it as added value to the new owner but we shall see what other options they come back with.
Details on contacting procedures in the event of non contactable drivers will also be queried.
All interested parties have been noted and i will give you an update soon

if the moneys good, then Im in, but as always, dont envy you with the old catch 22
how many takers dictates the discount...
how much discount dictates the how many takers...

im a possible, but been speaking to mike gray via email and he seems very helpfull to SNetters anyway..
Security like this will make next years prem go down, but will my insurance co. reduce the rest of this year

Andy..

the above wasnt meant to sound negative I promise!!!!

Still negotiating the discount and this may be settled when we get to 10.
Just to confirm interested parties and your conditions
N3WwrxB0Y-as long as its cheaper than RAC (look below to see your answers)
TonyG-yes
Hawk_yes
maccster30-possible
Turbohot-yes
john coffey-possibe but depends on contact details in event of non-reachable
Peanuts-yes
Sith-depends on payment options
Scooby stu!!-yes
Phil Herrup-yes
By my crap maths that makes the magical 10 as long as all those down are still good to go.

Answers for you undecided ones. Most of this is down to comparison between the other leading competitor . RAC

Sorry its a bit long winded but you guys probably want all the skinny before you part with your hard earned cash...

RAC Trackstar has an emergency key fob which is attached to the car keys in
the event of an emergency. However, this means that if a thief steals your
keys, then they can disarm your tracking system's proactive alert. ( 53% of
new cars stolen, are stolen by using the owners own car keys ).
Only Navtraks ADR system can protect you from this. We will call you within
minutes, even

Navtrak has full European cover. Not only can we locate your car in Europe,
but thanks to our relationship with Eurowatch, we will liaise with local
police forces across Europe and bring the vehicle home to you cleaned and
valetted. ( This is included in the cost ).
RAC Trackstar can locate your vehicle in Europe, however, I believe that you
must make your own arrangements to retrieve the vehicle. ( This is an
additional cost with Trackstar )

Navtrak systems have their own Battery Back-Up unit ( BBU ). If you car
battery runs dead or is disconnected then your Navtrak system will still
work for quite some time. Navtrak only take a trickle feed from your
battery. RAC Trackstar runs off your battery, ( you can purchase a BBU from
them at a further cost )

Navtrak allow you to self test your system whenever you like, as many times
as you like, thanks to Navtrak's Autotrak. Wherever you are in the UK, at
any time you can actually phone up your car and it will send you a text
message giving you it's exact location.

Both Navtrak and RAC Trackstar allow you to transfer your system from
vehicle to vehicle. RAC Trackstar is more expensive. Any outstanding
subscription will also be lost when you transfer a Trackstar system. At
Navtrak, your subscription will also be transfered. ( Except lifetime
subscription ).

Navtrak offer you a replacement vehicle for up to 10 days if your vehicle
cannot be found. ( ADR system has a 100% recovery success rate )

any questions on part payment will be answered soon
Peanuts-you probably have all your questions answered by mike himself and no-you are not being negative just cautious..

John Coffey-NAVTRAK will take as many contact numbers as you give them, girlfriend, mum and dad, landline, neighbours etc so if you are in the server room and the mobile does not work they will try all the n umbers. Also if they still get no joy they will keep on trying for 12 hours and monitor the situation after that 12 hours. In addtion if they cannot get hold of you in that 12 hours, and the car is showing signs of eratic behaviour, high speeds, coast bound etc, they will inform the poilce and keep track of the vehicle for future pickup.
If you want more details email me-chris@dodsworth.net

I hope this has got veryone sorted and we hope to get this nailed over the next few days

Chris

ADR cards are the same thing ?

Hi all
I used to have the Navtrak proactive on my scoob, its a good system ,the only hassle is that you have to deactivate it with a key card every time.

I now have a Navtrak ADR in my E46 M3, they give you 2 electronic pads the size of a match box and about as thin as a floppy disk drive, which you wear it in your pocket etc and should in no way be attached to your keys of course.

Every time you start the car it automatically detects the card and disables it, you don't have to do anything.Even if the scum bags nick your keys and drive off, the tracker is automatically activated, tracks it all the way to Europe. Its uses GSM and satnav technology so best of both worlds.

You can even ask them to fax or email you your travel route/speed etc for claiming back travel expenses and its good for keeping a track of any dodgy servicing guys taking your pride and joy for a 100 mile @ 130mph test drives.

that is your decision mate, so no worries. Just be careful of what you have to pay for extras to bring it up to the same level as the NAVTRAK.

Like N3WwrxB0Y I really only need a "tracker" for insurance purposes. I have no issue paying extra for Navtrak (it does seem to be the best system) but it is soooooooo much more
Is the price include installation at home? Could the package be cheaper still if fitted at a nominated centre? I'm looking the places to drive to in my new scoob
