Do you know if one of those back boxes would fit a sport wagon? and If so would it make any noticeable difference to the output and exhaust tone (i.e. rumble more)?
Suppose for a tenner it would still look good!

flatfour - I didn't think that an STI8 backbox (or any bugye/blobeye backbox) would fit a classic shape impreza.
I think the MY97 owner may be returning the backbox to the garage soon

i sold my exhaust bits for £160, the back box should fit a classic, i fitted a classic scoobysport backbox onto my sti7 whilst waiting for my ppp, only the centre hanger doesnt line up but it fits fine

I dont know for sure but if you look at some of the tuners websites or probably in the scooobyshop they list the backboxes separately rather than one size fits all. I took that to mean they are slightly different design. This of courses refers to classics and new afe motors. new age to new age no idea sorry.

New age exhaust will most defintely fit classic shape, I know 'cos I've done it.
The only consideration is that the hanger that is forward of the back box does not reach the hanger on the classic. Easily fixed by either :
1. Ignore the fact that is doesn't reach and be happy with all the ones that do.
2. Extend it
To do the latter you obviously need either a welding set or some other imaginative way. I used a welding set as I have access to one and a coded welder to operate it
