hi,
Im new to the subaru scene, i recently purchased a 1993 scooby wrx ( japanese import model ).
i was told by the seller the BHP of the car was 280, since the purchase i have been on many sites and there seems to be no way of telling as there are so many different bhp's stated,
Can anyone please give me any info ....??? Thanks

I cant answer your question but know there were a range of powers from the wrx imports, ranging from 240 to the current 280, 1993 would suggest closer to 240. I could be wrong though.
They are only ball park, if you're really that interested get yourself down to Power Engineering on Saturday week for a rolling road session to find out a real figure, check southern meets section to sign up

this is the SIDC FAQ it'll answer loads of your basic questions.
The best way to find out the BHP of your car is to go to a rolling road, if you check the regional forums then you'll find local meets for your area.

If your car has a different exhaust to standard (a full decat) for example it will be a lot higher than 240hp, which when you go for an MOT you will find out is a problem as it'll fail.
Post some pics and let us see, btw, welcome to the gang.
PS. Dont spend too much time on here as you'll want to buy more and more toys for your car!!!
