Just reading through the last of my garage servicing notes, and for the last one (I didn't own it then) it says "Coolant Pipe Hot". Is this anything major to worry about ?

Personaly speaking as an ex-fitter on heavy comercials (from about ten years ago!) I wouldnt read to much into that, id just monitor the temp gauge every now and again as usual.
Unless any one else can shed some light on it?
Its abit of an empty statement isnt it, as coolant pipes get hot anyway.
Can you call and ask them what they meant by it?

Yeah will probably have too, the temp gage seems fine and hasn't gone above half way. The only reason I am a little concerned is I have just bought the car and the engine / bonnet does seem very hot after a good drive. This may be just a normal scooby thing because I haven't owned one before. But was wondering whether the coolant pipe could affect this.

All petrol turbo engines generate alot of heat, scooby engine in particular, the bonnet will seem quite hot, theres the turbo itself which can get to around roughly 600 degrees c and above on the exhaust side of it then theres all those water pipes under there, not to mention a large alloy engine block! my temp gauge always sits at half way, just remember to check the water level in the header tank and as long as it dosent use any and the gauge sits half way, youl be fine!
