i recently bought a wrx it has a misfire the plugs and leads have been changed but i noticed the filter is a jap induction kit never heard of the make but it is black dirty realy bad could this cause the problem.

A clogged filter won't be helping, but a misfire is normally plugs or coil packs. A sticking idle speed control valve can also cause this problem.
